What you can expect in 2019

Expectations.  We all have them.  We have them when we go out to eat. When we are on a blind date or using a dating app.  We are about to see a movie that we have been waiting for to come out. Who hasn’t experienced the anticipation of a trade show and conference, with abated excitement, only to be bummed out, because it failed to live up to our expectations? But, and here is the kicker, what if you could know ahead of time, that yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus. Expect the following VR takes a hit.  As … Continue reading What you can expect in 2019

Learning System Forecasts 2019

Can you believe it? We are just five months out to 2019. And with that comes my forecasts for said year.   Who would have guessed that VR would be on wobbly ground in the corporate learning space for the majority of verticals? Who would have thought that too many folks still think xAPI is open for debate, but CMI-5 seems to make sense?  Who would have seen that Amazon is working on a commercial LMS, which based on the background of the person running Learning Products, doesn’t really point towards an LMS like you know the term actually means … Continue reading Learning System Forecasts 2019

Corporate Forecasts for 2018 (E and I)

For those of us who watched the Super Bowl this past weekend, a soft drink ad, showed why forecasts are needed.   The drink? Mango Diet Coke.  Now, I’m a believer in taste buds and Diet Coke doesn’t support that. It’s that time of the year.  A time to reflect back to see where e-learning as a whole is at, and where it is heading for the coming year. That said, reflection is for some other blog author to write about. I’m all about now and where the industry is heading (based on trends).   Now.  The Present.  Or as some people will call it, Now, as in the present.  Think of it like those movies, you know the ones that say “present day”, and it was done in 1975?  Yeah, like that. Except it is Oct. 2017 and the industry … Continue reading State of the E-Learning Industry 2017

Latest Negative E-Learning Trends

Trends.  They will often bare fruit.  Sometimes is a way we like, other times in a way we don’t.   Who can forget the trend of seeing Ned Beatty in every movie out there? He was soon replaced by Morgan Freeman.  And Morgan now is being replaced by Anthony Hopkins.    That is a trend, I wish to no longer see. Many people who discuss trends only look at the “plus and positive” ones, and never or rarely mention if that, the minus or negative ones. Well, no more to that. Here are the latest negative trends happening in the e-learning industry … Continue reading Latest Negative E-Learning Trends
